Quick Update!!

Oh wow it's been a while since my last post! We have been very busy throughout the last month. We went to our family reunion for Will's side of the family Labor Day weekend, it was for all the Hardcastles, and it was a blast. I love getting to know Will's family and just catching up. I can't wait to go again next year :) We finally got the chance to go to Idaho to visit my family this last weekend and it was a great trip. We visited with my mom, two of my brothers, and all their kids on Sunday then we stayed the night at my sister in law's house. We got to play with some of Will's nieces and nephews on Monday, then back to my mom's house for games, and lastly we went to dinner with one of my best friends that I grew up with and her husband. They are expecting their first baby in October and we couldn't be more excited for them!! It was a much needed weekend away because the Friday before we left I had 3 job interviews which left me brain dead! Then I had 2 more interviews the following Tuesday after our trip. I was so mentally drained I couldn't even think straight....but all my hard work has paid off, I am thrilled to report that I have an amazing new job :) Today was my first day of work, but I can already tell that I am going to LOVE it!! I feel so lucky! I can't believe it's been less than a year since I started my first day of class at Everest College and now I'm starting a whole new chapter in my life.

Random Memories

So I love watching gymnastics and the other day I was watching some national competition for female gymnasts and it brought back memories from when I was little. Did I do gymnastics? Of course not, but when I would watch gymnastics and tumbling and whatnot I used to dance and jump around the living room as if I was a world famous gymnast :) I thought I was pretty darn good. It also reminded me of when my brother and I would watch Karate Kids and then we would practice "karate" with each other afterwards. I like remembering those kinds of things.

Break Down

So for quite some time one of my worst fears for most stressful situations has been the idea of breaking down on the side of the road, specifically the freeway. Well this last Thursday I had the opportunity to experience just that.....and it sucked! I was driving Will's car out to West Valley to pick up Brooke from our cousin's house when suddenly I noticed I couldn't get the car to speed up. I had to pull over to the side of the road; all the car gauges were lit up and the car was smoking :( Apparently the car had been overheating and the temperature gauge had failed to tell me so. I'm just grateful that I didn't have Brooke in the car with me already, but I still had a good cry none the less! Luckily Will's cousin was able to pick up me and baby and give us a ride home. That whole night I was at a total loss over what we were going to do with just one car, I only had 2 more days left of my externship and had been planning on handing out resumes the next week in hopes to find a job ASAP.....now what was I to do?? Well we had our car towed and sold it for parts. But it just so happens that my brother in law has an extra car that they're going to let us use in the meantime. All in all, we are so blessed to have such an amazing family :)

So Close!!

So Monday is my last day of my externship!! Yay :) I can't believe I'm finally done with school, I have to say I'm very proud of myself for how hard I've worked the last 8 months and I'm hoping it pays off in a big way! I'm so excited to start working I can hardly stand it, now all I have to do is find a job....let's hope I get a good one soon. I had such an amazing experience at Rocky Mountain Associated Physicians, where I did my externship. The people that work there are awesome and I have learned so much from them! Going to Everest College has been one of the best experiences of my life (I've said it before and I'll continue saying it!) and I truly can't wait to see what comes next.

I think Brooke has her first cold :( Luckily she's not really fussy or anything but her nose is full and I'm constantly cleaning it our for her so she's not very happy with me lately. I hope it passes quickly! Will started his new schedule this last week, he now works from 2 to 10:30 instead of the graveyard shift, and we are loving it! I'm so happy to have him home at night.

Surprise Lunch :)

So after babysitting our friend's adorable little boy Saturday morning, I got a phone call from my brother Nate. He and his wife were in town from Wyoming and wanted to get together for lunch! It was a great visit and we were so glad that they got to see baby Brooke, since we won't be able to make it to my family reunion this year and we don't know when we'll ever be able to make a trip to Wyoming....Will is getting his new work schedule starting next Tuesday and I'm thrilled that I won't be going to bed alone any more!!

I've never been one to even remotely enjoy hiking before but lately I'm wanting to look up some easy hiking trails online and plan a day trip for Will and I to go exploring outdoors. I just want to find some things to do that will get us out of our daily routine for a while...I really wish I was more impulsive sometimes. Will and I were able to go to the Sandy, UT cemetery yesterday and find his great Grandma and Grandpa Hardcastle's grave. I love doing random little things like that and even though I haven't a clue where/how to start with geneology, it's very important to me to know where you come from and where your family roots are. Hopefully we'll be able to go on a day trip and find my grandparents' graves....
